Reconciliation Guide
Last updated 9/17/2026
Reconciliation is how a projected balance becomes a verified one.
Steps
- Open Reconciliation for the account you want to check.
- Compare each transaction against your bank or card statement.
- Check off transactions that match.
- Once everything on the statement is checked off, confirm the ending balance.
Duplicate payees
If PayBeat notices two payees that look like the same merchant (for example "AMZN Mktp" and "Amazon"), it will offer to merge them so your spending history stays clean. You can accept or dismiss the suggestion at any time.
Why it matters
Until a transaction is reconciled, its balance impact is a projection. Reconciling regularly (weekly is a good habit) keeps your projections accurate.
